Abstract: An 85-year-old man was hospitalized because of Acute inferior myocardial infarction, associated with right ventricular infarction. The target lesion was the proximal portion of the right coronary artery. Direct percutaneous transluminal angioplasty (direct PTCA) was performed to revascularize the target lesion. Intracoronary stenting was attempted because direct PTCA resulted in coronary dissection, which had the potential to cause acute colonary occlusion. Balloon catheter mounted with a stent could not pass through the target lesion and the stent was stripped from the balloon catheter and lost in an unexpanded state on the guide wire. The lost stent was retrieved using a biotorm catheter because aortic flow brought the lost stent to the abdominal aorta.

Key words: Wiktor stent, AMI, PTCA
