＜総説＞栄養とアルコール性肝障害

抄　録：現在，アルコール性肝障害は大きな社会的問題となっているが，その成因の詳細は不明である。1960年以降，アルコール性肝障害の発生に関しては大量のアルコール飲用それ自身の影響が強調されてきた。しかし最近は栄養（蛋白質やビタミンまたは脂肪や糖質など）とアルコール性肝障害の関係が見直されている。本総説はアルコール性肝障害の発生・進展における栄養の役割を 1) 疫学報告，2) 動物実験，3) アルコール代謝と栄養，4) 肝障害と栄養についてまとめ，アルコール性肝障害の発生・進展過程における栄養の重要性について述べた。

Nutrition and Alcoholic Liver Disease

Alcoholic liver disease is a major health problem in our society, but the pathogenesis is sfill unclear. The experimental and epidemiological studies in these to decades have ernphasized that the injury is more closely associated with alcohol abuse per se rather than malnutrition accompanying the abuse. More recently, however, it has come to be recognized that nutritional fators, not only protein and vitamin but also fat and carbohydrate intakes, play a very important role in the development of the injury. This review article deals with 1) an overview of alcoholic liver diseases from an etiological perspective, 2) experimental animal models, 3) nutritional factors affecting hepatic alcohol metabolism, and 4) dietary intake level as a modifying factor of the development of alcoholic liver injury. This review stresses the importance of dietary factors in the development of alcoholic liver diseases.
