High-Dose-Rate Interstitial Radiotherapy for the Glioblastoma
Multiforme

Abstract: Glioblastoma multiforme is characterized by its resistance to any kind of treatment. We report a patient with recurrent glioblastoma multiforme treated by intraoperative high-dose-rate interstitial rediotherapy with an Iridium-192-equipped remote-afterloading system. This technique was effective only in preventing tumor growth for a few months.
