＜総説＞加齢と目：角膜内皮と水晶体の加齢による変化

抄　録：ヒト角膜内皮と水晶体の加齢変化に関する最近の研究を紹介した。ヒト角膜内皮細胞は加齢により細胞数を減ずる。また，細胞数の減少に伴い，六角形細胞比率の減少，細胞の大きさの均一性の乱れ等の細胞の形態学的変化が生ずる。これらの変化により角膜透明性の喪失する可能性について論じた。また，ヒト水晶体の加齢による構造及び成分の変化と病的現象であるとされる白内障の有病率の変化について述べた。

A brief review of age-related changes of human corneal endothelium and crystalline lens

Studies on age-related changes of human corneal endothelium and crystalline lens are briefly reviewed. Human corneal endothelial cells decrease in number with age. Morphological changes such as pleomorphism and diversification of cell size parallel changes in cell number. Decompensation of endothelial function following these changes is discussed. Structural changes of the human crystalline lens and the incidence of cataract are also discussed in relation to aging.
