タッチングによる精神・生理機能の変化

　本研究は，重要な看護の技術であるタッチングの精神・神経機能の影響を明らかにすることを目的とした。被験者は事前に研究の趣旨を説明し，研究協力が得られた健康な21歳の女性６名である。臥床閉眼安静（５分間），座位（開眼閉眼で各５分），タッチング（同性，異性で各３分を開眼閉眼で行う），同性，異性タッチングの間に座位（２分）をそれぞれ設けた。脳波は国際10/20 法に基づきFz ，Cz ，Pz ，Oz を選択し，同時に心電図も測定した。同性，異性に関わらずタッチングの最中のα波は増加するものの，R- R 間隔は閉眼時で縮小傾向を示し，座位時は逆に閉眼時の方が拡大していた。すなわちタッチングをしている最中は閉眼時の方が，また座位時には開眼している時の方が，自律神経系の緊張が高くなることが明らかになった。タッチングは，精神・生理機能に少なからず影響を与えていると考えられたが，本研究は対象者数が少なく限界があると思われた。

Changes of mental and physiological functions by touching

This study aims at clarifying how touching - an important technique in nursing - can effect mental and physiological functions for patients. We explained the purpose of the study to the subjects in advance. The subjects were six healthy 21-year-old women who volunteered for the study. Their positions were: resting in bed with eyes closed (five minutes), sitting (with eyes open and closed for five minutes each), being touched (by nurses of the same sex and the opposite sex while the subjects' eyes were open and closed for five minutes each). The subjects stayed in a sitting position for two minutes while being touched by nurses of the same sex and the opposite sex. The electroencephalogram (EEG) was derived from Fz, Cz, Pz, and Oz based on the international 10/20 standard, and rheocardiogram was measured at the same time. Although alpha waves increased during touching by both the same sex and the opposite sex, the R-R interval tended to decrease when the subjects' eyes were closed. This indicates that strain on the autonomic nerve is higher when the subjects were touched while their eyes were closed, and while they were sitting with their eyes open. While it appears that touching has some effect on mental and physiological functions, this study was limited by the small size of the target group.
