多読を中心としたリーディング指導の個別化

　本研究は，山梨医科大学で実施した，多読指導を取り入れた英語指導の個別化の実践報告である。対象となったのは医学科の１・２年生で，正規の授業の一環として実施した。この多読タイプの授業は，学生が与えられた教材のなかから自分の好きなものを選び，各自のペースで読みすすめ，その要約を書いた後，次の教材へ進むという方式で行われる。
　６，７週間のこの授業プログラムの後に実施したアンケートによれば，学生は概ねこの形式を好んでいることがわかる。しかし，いくつかの問題点も指摘されており，今後の更なる改良が必要とされるところである。

Extensive reading program to promote individualized reading

The present article reports on the extensive reading program conducted at Yamanashi Medical University for the purpose of enhancing reading ability of the first and second-year medical students.In the program the students chose from about twenty English passages and read the passages on their own. The students' task was to write a summary of the passage they have just read.
The results of the questionnaire conducted after the six to seven week program have shown that the students like the program on the whole. However, the results have also indicated some problems to be solved in order to furthur improve the program.
