新約聖書の生命観

　新約聖書の生命観は旧約のそれを前提し、ある点でそれにとって代っている。本稿は新約聖書記者の関係記事を検討して、そこに見られる生命観の特質を明らかにしようとする試みである。イエスの奇蹟物語と譬話の叙述には、生命の創造者・維持者たる神との正ししい関係に人を生かす「神の国」の現実的到来の事実が示されている。また初めからイエスを霊的存在としてとらえたバウロにとって、イエスは救い主・キリストであるとともに、人間生命のいっそう大きな広がりを啓示する存在であった。福音書記者ヨハネにとってイエスは神の子であり、神に至る道であり、復活であり、生命であり、彼を信ずる者は死を味わうことなき「神の国」で永遠の生命を現に受けている。以下この枠組の中で新約聖書の病気観、死生観、復活観が論じられ、キリスト教の信仰・希望・愛の究極的基礎たる終末論的生命観の検討をもって結ばれる。

The New Testament views of life

The New Testament (NT) views of life presuppose that of the Old Testament and , in some points, supersede them. This article, discussing the relevant texts of some representative authors in NT, tries to elucidate main features of NT views of life. In Jesus' miracles and parables, we can recognize the reality of the Kingdom of God, in which man enjoys right relation with God himself, the creator and sustainer of life. For Paul, to whom Jesus revealed himself as a spiritual reality from the outset, Jesus was Christ, the saviour and at the same time the revealer of wider domain of human life. For John the evangelist, Jesus is the Son of God, the way to God, truth and life, and those who believe in him actually enjoy eternal life, the life in the Kingdom of God, where there is no death. Then follows some discussion on NT views of disease, death and resurrection. This piece ends with an examination of eschatological view of life in NT, and suggests that this is the final and most important basis of Christian faith, hope and love.
