医学部における受験機会の複数化の推移と
本学におけるその効果

今日、国立大学の入試改革は、連続方式と分離分割方式の併存という形で落着いた観があるが、この問題は国民の多くから関心を寄せられており、分離分割方式を採用する大学が増えていることに対して、厳しい論評をくり返している新聞もある。各方面から提出された正当な問題には、前向きの姿勢で取り組むと同時に、正しい情報を提供することも大学の役目の1つであろう。
昨年の本紀要の中で、受験機会の複数化の問題を入試の「正確さ」という観点から考察し、世間で言われている国立大学の地盤沈下に歯止めをかけるためにも、複数化がいかに重要であるかを論じたが、「分離分割方式を採用する大学の増加によって、医学部受験は実質的には前期に１本化され、その余波で中堅私立のいわゆる難易度が上昇している。」と論じている医学雑誌もある。
本論文では、最初に受験機会の複数化はどのように推移したかを考察し、合せて現状を分析した。次に1980年から1991年までに本学の志願者及び入学者の質がどのように変ったか、学力の面から考察し、複数化の効果を検証した。

Transition of the Pluralization of Chances to Apply
for Medical Departments in the National Universities

Today the reform of the entrance examination in national universities seems to be brought to an agreeable ending in the co-existence of so-called "renzoku system" and "bunri-bunkatsu system". However this reform is a matter of increasing interest for the great many people of our country, and some newspapers have been severely critical upon the increase in the introduction of "bunri-bunkatsu system" by the national universities. It should be one of the major tasks of the university' to tackle positively with judicious proposals raised up from every point of view and, at the same time, to provide sound informations for the applicants and for the public in general.
Last year in this journal we took up this topic of the pluralization of chances to apply for national universities from the view point of "accuracy", and emphasized the importance to maintain the plural chances, also in order to put the brakes on the socalled "subsidence" of the national universities. A medical journal, however, comments that the rise in the number of universities which introduce the "bunri-bunkatsu system" is virtually making entrance examination of medical departments into the single track operation (in effect only "zenki", the earlier period), and this operation made the rise of the relative difficulty in entering into medical departments of private universities of substantial standing.
So, in this essay, we at first observed the transition of the pluralization of chances to apply for medical departments in national universities, and also analysed its present situation. Then we ascertained the merit of that pluralization by the observation of changes between l980-l991 in the academic qualities of the applicants and new students in our college.
