ヒポクラテスの「誓い」を読む（５）
―医者としての能力と判断力―

ヒポクラテスの『誓い』に出てくる「私の能力と判断力の限りをつくして」「患者の福祉のために」という言葉の内容をヒポクラテス集典の他の論文の中から探索し、この『誓い』の背景にある、知的追求、判断力行使の具体的あり方と、それをまとめる視点としての「患者の福祉」との関わりをさぐる。

Looking into the Hippocratic Oath (5)

In search of the contents of the famous phrases in the Hippocratic Oath - "to the best of my abilities and judgement … on behalf of the patients" - the author tried to find in the Corpus Hippocraticum some remarkable examples which illustrate the achievements of the physicians' abilities and judgement in their daily activities. He also tried to find some connection between these abilities and the care for the welfare of the patients.
