入学時の平均的学力及び専門教育と
医師国家試験の合格率の関連

今日、国立大学の入試改革は、連続方式と分離分割方式の併用という形で落着いた観があるが、後者の方式の前期日程には、入学者決定に当って一種の優先権があるため、前期に定員の多くを配した同方式を採用する大学が次第に増え、医学部に関しても、(A日程+前期日程)と(B日程+後期日程)の間の定員のバランスは全く失われている。
このような状況の中で、B日程で入試を実施している本学の志願倍率は極めて高く、入学者の学力レベルも、共通1次及び大学入試センター試験で比較する限り、複数化後とりわけ昨年及び本年は高くなっている。
複数化された入試で入学した者が卒業するのは次年度以降であるが、入学年度別に見た入学時の平均的学力と医師国家試験の合格率の間には相関が見られることが確認された。さらに、個々の学生の臨床成績と国試の合否の関係等を調べているとき、入学時の平均的学力より、国試の合格率と密接な関係にあるものを偶然発見した。

Correlation between the Average Academic Level of New
Medical Students, Clinical Education and the Pass-rate
of National Examination for Certificate

Today the reform of the entrance examination in national universities seems to be brought to an agreeable ending in the joint-use of so-called "renzoku system" and "bunri-bunkatsu system". However, since the earlier schedule of the latter system has a kind of priority for the decision of new students, the number of the universities which adopt that system alloted the greater part of the fixed number of new students to the earlier schedule gradually increased. Also in the medical department, the balance of the fixed number of new students between so-called schedule A plus earlier one and schedule B plus later one is now utterly lost.
Under such circumstances, the ratio of applicants to the fixed number in our university which adopts so-called schedule B examination, is extremely high, and the academic level of new students, so far as compared in the points of the joint first-stage achievement test and that of the national center for university entrance examination, has been hightend after the so-called pluralization of chances and, especially, last year and this year.
The students admitted after the practice of the so-called pluralization of chances will finish the normal course next year and after, but we already confirmed some correlation between the average academic level of new students of every school year and the pass rate of their examination for national certificate. Moreover, in the course of our investigation of the relationship between the scores of clinical courses of individual students and the result of their national examinations for certificate, we happened to find something which has closer relationship to the pass rate of their national examination than the average academic level of new students.
