＜総説＞
がん治療における放射線療法と看護実践の展望

＜要　旨＞
　がん治療における放射線療法は，癌そのものの根治を目指すものから症状緩和や延命を図るものまで広範囲に適応され，生涯を癌と共に生きる患者のQOL向上への貢献が今後さらに期待される治療法である。放射線療法を受けるがん患者への看護研究や実践は欧米で先行して行われており，わが国では教育・研究・実践全てにおいて課題が多い。そこで，国内外の放射線療法を受けるがん患者と看護の実状の概略を示した。結果，治療に伴う身体的心理的かつ社会的侵襲に対する基本的な看護実践をふまえ，治療目的などの患者各々のニーズに沿ったより個別性を重視する看護体制の設置が急務であるという示唆が得られた。

Radiotherapy in Cancer Therapy - A View of Nursing Practice

Radiotherapy as a cancer treatment has moved away from its previous goal of a radical cure to one of easing symptoms and prolonging life. An improvement in the QOL of patients who live with cancer will be expected as a result of this treatment method. Nursing research and practice with cancer patients who undergo radiotherapy is advanced in Europe and America, and there are numerous problems in its education, research, and practice in Japan. This paper will outline nursing issues as they relate to cancer patients receiving domestic and foreign radiotherapy. The results suggest that nurses need to practice basic care for patients suffering from physical and psychosocial difficulties caused by radiotherapy, and advises setting up a nursing system which values the individuality of the patient.
