山梨県における献血者のHBs抗原保有率
―高率な肝疾患による死亡率と関連して―

The prevalence of HBs-Ag among the blood donors in Yamanashi Prefecture
- Correlation with high prevalence of liver diseases in Yamanashi -

From l978 to 1983, a tota1238, 774 healthy blood donors were screened for HBs-Ag in Yamanashi Red Cross Blood Center, and 4,842 donors (2.03%) were positive for HBs-Ag. The prevalence of HBs-Ag in Yamanashi was higher than average frequency of HBs-Ag carrier in Japan (1.6%).
It was suggested that the high HBV carrier rate in Yamanashi may contribute, at least in part, to the high motality due to liver diseases in Yamanashi, in addition to Schistosomiasis and alcoholic liver diseases.
